Tyler Rake: Netflix extends the universe of his films with a series carried by Omar Sy

In 2020, Netflix proposed Tyler Rake (Extractionin VO), a military action film carried by Chris Hemsworth (Thor). Faced with the success of this first opus based on comics Ciudad by Ande Parks, Tyler Rake 2 will then arrive in 2023. But Netflix seems far from finished with the license.

A derived series is officially on the way.

Omar Sy will direct the mission

No mention is made on the presence or not of Chris Hemsworth in the casting, but it is Omar Sy (Lupine,, Untouchable) which will have the main role. For eight episodes, the actor will be in the shoes of a mercenary trapped between factions at war and ruthless killers during a dangerous mission aimed at saving hostages in Libya.

Netflix promises a show that “Immerse in the emotional struggles of imperfect characters in conflict, each confronted with trauma, betrayals and choices of life or death.“”

The Russo brothers still alongside Netflix

To direct Omar Sy, Glen Mazzara (The Shield,, The Walking Dead) will be in the scenario and the post of showrunner. The latter declares himself very lucky to have joined this universe and adds that Omar Sy has a huge talent.

The director of the two films Tyler RakeSam Hargrave, will be back for executive production. The Russo brothers will also have this role through their production company Agbo. Recall that the latter, known in particular for the last films Avengershave signed a partnership with Netflix and are also responsible for The Gray Man and next The Electric State.
