Are you looking for an affordable OLED TV? Here are the models not to be missed
The price is often the biggest brake to turn to an OLED TV, because the models that benefit from this technology are generally quite high -end. There are that said a few models that offer very good value for money without having to pay more than € 2500 to equip themselves and take advantage of all the advantages of this technology: deep blacks and infinite contrasts, excellent color reproduction and remarkable reactivity.
The Philips Oled809 during its visit to our test bench.
Whether for home cinema, for its favorite series or for video games, here is a selection of the most affordable 4K OLED TVs from our comparison. Note that these models are all in 55 inches, but that you can obviously find them in larger diagonals (65 and 77 inches in particular) provided you add a few hundred euros to get your hands on it.
LG 55B4
The LG 55B4 is quite simply the cheapest OLED model that we have tested in 2024. If it ignores a few design elements and it offers much more limited HDR light than its large C4 and C4 -range brothers and G4there is nonetheless a very good television. It delivers excellent image quality with precise colors, Dolby Vision compatibility, all webos applications, and a sound system that is effective as a bonus. It is found around 850 €, an unbeatable price for OLED.

LG 55C4
The LG 55C4 is very similar to the B4, but it displays a clearly higher light (960 CD/m²) and a slightly more worked design. We therefore find a 55 -inch OLED 4K 4K slab, with exceptional image quality, deep blacks and precise colors. The OS is of course the same and it is also excellent for video games, in short, one of the best value for money of our comparison for a while already, especially since it is now found around € 1050.

Samsung 55S90D
The Samsung 55S90D is the direct competitor of the LG 55C4 and it also has the same Woled slab! They are therefore almost identical, although the operating system is different since Tizen is at the helm at Samsung. It must also be said to say goodbye to Dolby Vision since Samsung favors HDR10+, but apart from this detail, it is just as versatile as its cousin from LG. It is therefore the price or affinity towards one or the other brand that will decide them, but they are also found at the same price at the moment: € 1050.

Philips 55Oled809
We end with the Philips Oled809, little brother from OLED909 which is also one of the very good value for money of our comparison. If he has the same slab as the LG C4 (decidedly), he stands out from competition in some aspects, including the presence of Philips Ambilight technology at the back of the TV. It offers unique ambient lighting depending on the content displayed on the screen, the idea being to strengthen immersion in films, games and series. There is also a foot that can rotate on this model, and it is the Google TV OS which will allow you to control the TV. With all these features, it is a little more expensive than its competitors and it is found at € 1200 when writing these lines.
