What makes glass Durax® as resistant is the caliber process. It consists of sudden cooling by ventilation of cold air on the entire glass product, previously increased to a temperature of around 700ºC. This treatment creates, in glass, controlled stresses which improve most of its physical qualities: resistance to mechanical stresses and thermal shocks (sudden change in temperature).
This treatment makes glass for mechanical stresses 2.5 times more resistant than a receipt. It resists a thermal shock of at least 130 ° C.
