Expected for the month of October 2025, the 8Bitdo Pro 3 controller has been emulated within the editorial staff during its announcement. Inevitably, it was not necessary to attract our curiosity towards the 8Bitdo stand of Gamescom 2025, which proposed to try the future new features of its portfolio gaming.
As a reminder, the PRO 3 controller has two TMR technology joysticks (magnetotistance with tunnel effect), which replaces the potentiometers of yesteryear with sensors impermeable to the famous drift. Among the key features of the controller, there are detachable and customizable magnetic buttons, to go from a Nintendo to an Xbox arrangement. 8Bitdo obliges, a plethora of retro colors is also proposed, including a purple coating which is very freely inspired by the GameCube controller in Nintendo.

In hand, the grip is still as pleasant – logical, because inherited from the very good pro 2 – while the joysticks did not vacillate during our session on Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The trigger locks on the back allow you to block the race to pass on an ultra-reactive pressure, but not necessarily pleasant Feeling level. Finally, it is difficult to judge the directional cross on a game like Smash Bros., but its feeling is always “Musy”, or muffled Super Nintendo, which will not be to the taste of micro-switches.
Finally, it is above all its accounting Switch 2 which attracts all the attentions. The Nintendo console has not yet received a plethora of third -party accessories, and the pro 3 has a blow to play to become the reference device. 8bitdo assures that it is able to take out the Switch 2 of its standby mode, which the Nintendo Pro Controller of the Switch 1 cannot do. It will only be compatible with the Bluetooth interface nevertheless: only the PC will be able to take advantage of its 2.4 GHz Radio Dongle in USB-C. The 8bit Pro 3 will be marketed at a price of € 70.
