iPad Mini (2024): AI comes to the new tablet thanks to the iPhone 15 Pro chip
Apple likes to be careful with its effects. An A17 Pro chip focused on Apple Intelligence
The new features are hidden inside the iPad Mini (2024). The tablet replaces the A15 Bionic chip of version 6 with an Apple 17 Pro, that is to say by the chipset controlling the iPhone 15 Pro And Pro Max. Understand that the gain in power promises to be perceptible, and that this chip engraved in 3 nm opens the doors to Apple Intelligence, Apple-style AI, for the iPad Mini (2024). The information has been sufficiently commented on: these features will be available from deployment of iPad OS 18.1 (and iOS 18.1) scheduled before the end of October, and will initially be offered only in English. As for the language of Molière, we will have to wait until 2025.
Apple's latest iPad finally promises unchanged battery life (10 hours of web browsing according to Apple's estimates). The arrival of the A17 Pro finally results in compatibility with wifi 6e replacing wifi 6 of the iPad Mini 6, and with Bluetooth 5.3 (versus Bluetooth 5.0). The tablet is available in wifi or eSIM versions, and with storage of 128, 256 or 512 GB; it is thus more generous than its predecessor, equipped with 64 or 256 GB of internal space. The newcomer is therefore a little more expensive in the basic version, since it has double the storage, and is billed at €609. Count on €739 for the 256 GB model (€729 for the same configuration for the iPad Mini 6). It will be available from October 23.
