Dell Precision 5490 and 5690 – new lightweight 14″ and 16″ OLED 4K DCI-P3 professional laptops running Meteor Lake Intel Arc with Wi-Fi 7 and Thunderbolt 4

The 14-inch Dell Precision 5490 and 16-inch Dell Precision 5690 are new lightweight professional laptops with up to 4K OLED DCI-P3 screens equipped with a Meteor Lake processor up to Core Ultra 9 with Intel Arc, PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, a 2-factor biometric authentication solution and even Wi-Fi 7 and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.

THE Dell Precision 5490 is a new Ultrabook which weighs 1.48 kg and measures 310.6 x 210.35 x 7.49-18.95mm.

It runs on Windows 11 (Pro) with a 4-cell 72Whr Li-Polymer battery combined with a 100W or 130W USB-C adapter.

This laptop is driven by an Intel processor Meteor Lake hybrid with graphics module Intel Arc : Core Ultra 5 135H, Core Ultra 7 155H, Core Ultra 7 165H Or Core Ultra 9 185H.

The Meteor Lake comes with a maximum integrated RAM of 16/32 GB LPDDR5x 7467MHz.
But also of a M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD storage x4 with a capacity of 256 GB 4 TB.

Without forgetting a Ada professional dedicated graphics cardeither NVIDIA RTX 1000 6 GB GDDR6, i.e. NVIDIA RTX 2000 8 GB GDDR6, i.e. NVIDIA RTX 3000 8GB GDDR6.

Its cooling is based on advanced thermal management USTT (User Selectable Thermals Tables) 2 fans with turbo blades, a steam chamber and air grilles.

However, it does not accommodate a numeric keypad on the right of the chiclet keyboard even though this functionality is standard from 15 inches.
