3 Eve Energy Matter & Thread Connected Sockets
€79.90 – Baker
The EVE connected sockets, well known to Apple users since they are more HomeKit type, are now accessible to everyone, as long as you have a Compatible Assistant matter (like a Google Home, an Apple Homepod or certain Echo models).
Technology Thread makes the socket extremely responsive and stable inside the housing, each device equipped with Thread ensuring a much more efficient network mesh than Wifi or Bluetooth.
But that's not all! From Eve's website:
Reduce your home's electricity consumption in three simple steps
Technological advances and legislation have made it possible to reduce the energy consumption of many household appliances, but the proliferation of new types of constantly on devices (smart speakers, connected TVs, Wi-Fi repeaters, etc.) threatens to cancel all winnings obtained. In these conditions, what can you do? Fortunately, Eve Energy And the Eve app offer a clever energy consumption management feature. It allows you to identify with which devices you can save energy without giving up the advantages offered by these new devices.
Eve Energy is also a very practical solution which does not consume more electricity. Eve Energy's Bluetooth transmitter has a negligible power output of just 1mW, and the accessory's overall consumption is well under 1W in any state, unlike other smart plugs that stay connected permanently to your Wi-Fi network. The reliability and accuracy of Eve Energy as a consumption meter have been approved by the German consumer watchdog Stiftung Warentestwho gave it a “gut” rating.
1. Enter your electricity rate in the Eve app
The Eve application not only shows you the electricity consumption of the device connected to your Eve Energy, but also records the total consumption and the estimated annual cost of powering the device, based on the consumption recorded and your tariff of electricity.
2. Measure standby power consumption and compare different energy saving options
Thanks to the functions of the Eve app mentioned above and the possibilities of calculating the estimated cost based on the last day or last week with Eve Energy, you can quickly and easily check whether intelligently controlling a device can reduce your standby power consumption, for the good of the environment and your wallet. Some devices need to stay on standby all the time, including HomePods and Wi-Fi routers, because these are essential for HomeKit to work properly. On the other hand, it is not necessarily necessary to leave audio systems such as soundbars, connected televisions or decoders on standby (see here for more info).
3. Turn off your devices when you're not using them
With programs
If you have power-hungry devices that stay on standby for nothing while you're at work or at night, it might be a good idea to control them with a program.
With presence detection
If no one is home, your smart speaker wastes its time waiting for someone to ask it something. Configure Eve Energy so that the speaker only sleeps when someone is home.
With sensors
Did you go to get tools from your garage, but you didn't put them back in their place and the light stayed on for hours? If this kind of situation happens to you regularly, why not make the light turn off by itself? Simply plug your light into Eve Energy and get a motion sensor like Eve Motion.
One of the real tricks of this solution is that Eve Motion updates the active scenario each time movement is detected. This way, you'll never find yourself in the dark having to wave your arms around trying to turn on the light.
