OnePlus 13: an increased price for improved photos compared to the OnePlus 12
Next week promises to be rich in new smartphones, especially on the Chinese market. Indeed, the recent announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Elite by Qualcomm is synonymous with the launch of the first models equipped with the high-end flagship chip from the end of 2024 to the end of 2025. In the lot, we find the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro as well as the OnePlus 13, respectively expected for October 29 and 31, i.e. next week.
Concerning the next smartphone from OnePlus, the information is gradually starting to be confirmed. After sharing earlier in the week the launch date and design of the OnePlus 13the tease now continues with details on the photo part.
On the Chinese social network Weibo, the brand has indeed unveiled the main 50 Mpx sensor chosen for this generation: the Sony LYT-808. In other words, the brand reuses the sensor fitted to the main photo module of the OnePlus 12.
Things are still evolving on the telephoto side, abandoning the traditional periscope design for a double prism solution. Its big strong point is the fact that it is more compact, and therefore essential for having a smartphone and a less thick photo module.
In details, the sensor is 33% smaller than the telephoto lens of the OnePlus 12, for a definition of 50 Mpx instead of 64 Mpx. We then find an aperture of f/2.6 and a x3 optical zoom similar to the previous generation. First images have also been shared to show the performance of this new OnePlus 13 sensor.
Since announcing its OnePlus 13 announcement conference, OnePlus has also taken the time to confirm the use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip as well as a maximum amount of RAM of 24 GB and UFS 4.0 storage of 1 To.
Small bonus, this time a leak of information, the Chinese price of the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage was revealed : ¥4,699, or ¥400 more than the OnePlus 12 in the same configuration. Which can be converted into a price of €611.29 instead of €570.13, an increase of €41.16.
