Idyoma is a community for foreign language learners with the same goal of achieving oral fluency in the language they aspire to master. The application is free and will remain so. This is made possible by introducing you to other learners in your area who speak the language you want to learn and are looking for people who are proficient in the language they want to learn. In this way, you can move from the role of teacher to learner and vice versa so that both benefit from this exchange.

– Choose 1 to 3 languages you want to practice.
– Choose 1 to 3 languages that you speak and the level you have in each of them.
– Select your proficiency level in each language you select (whether you are learning or already speaking).
– Switch from one user to another by clicking on “People” in the bottom tab.
– Click on their photo to view their profile.
– Read their description, comments left by previous language partners, check how far they are from you and if you have any friends in common.
– Click the “Send Message” button at the bottom of the screen to start chatting.
– Translate all texts to get to know your friend better.

GPS is used to locate nearby users.
It runs in the background while using the app. Prolonged use can drain your phone's battery.
There is an option in the app to pay a specified recurring amount which will be visible in the app and will vary depending on your local currency. This is an optional recurring monthly charge that allows you to engage in conversations with as many other users as you want. By choosing not to pay this monthly recurring amount, you will face a cap on the number of new conversations you can initiate. For non-paying users, this cap will be visible in the app and will be reset each month. There is no limit to receiving messages under any circumstances.
