BYD launches its Tang DM-i hybrid SUV in 2025: its price is very low
As always, the price is very aggressive. So certainly, Europe will have the right at the Sealion 7 but its French price, in the event of an exit on our territory, will be inflated by the various taxes of France and Europe. It will therefore be the same for this hybrid SUV.
But what does this Tang DM-i which integrates the DM 5.0 hybrid system, unveiled at the end of May and promising optimized fuel consumption, actually offer?
BYD's next hybrid SUV is revealed
The BYD Tang DM-i 2025 will be available in four versions with a starting price of ¥179,800 or around $25,250 for the entry-level finish. The other models will be priced at ¥187,800 ($26,360), ¥197,800 ($27,760), and ¥207,800 ($29,170), respectively.
Compared to the Glory edition launched in February 2024, the basic version maintains its price. The other variants see prices reduced by ¥2,000 for the intermediate version and ¥12,000 for the high-end.
In terms of characteristics, this seven-seater hybrid SUV has impressive dimensions: 4,870 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width and 1,725 mm in height, for a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.
Under the hood, a 1.5 liter thermal engine develops 115 kW and a torque of 225 Nm, associated with a front electric motor of 200 kW for 315 Nm. This combination allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
Range performance is identical on all versions with 115 kilometers in electric mode according to the CLTC cycle. The combined range reaches 1,150 kilometers on a full tank of fuel and a charged battery.
