Xiaomi formalizes the Smart Band 9 Pro and Watch S4 connected watches

Last night, October 29, Xiaomi lifted the veil on its smartphones Xiaomi 15 and 15 Proas well as on its HyperOS 2 deployment schedule. But that's not all the Chinese manufacturer had in its bag, since two new connected accessories were also there: the Smart Band 9 Pro connected bracelet and the Xiaomi Watch S4 connected watch.

The Smart Band 9 goes Pro

Let's start with the Pro version of the Smart Band 9, launched just a few months ago. Like the previous series, the Amoled screen is wider (1.74 inches) and square. Xiaomi offers here a resolution of 336 x 480 pixels with a peak brightness announced at 1,200 cd/m². The overall aluminum body measures 43.27 x 32.49 x 10.8mm and weighs 24.5g.

Its 350 mAh battery, promising a battery life of 21 days, is protected from water (5ATM). Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and GPS chips are there, with support for Glonass, Galileo and QZSS. If it is useful for geolocation, the product is obviously designed to monitor the wearer's constants: heart rate, oxygen in the blood, stress or even sleep. Fashions for sports are also there.

Compatible with iOS and Android smartphones, the Smart Band 9 Pro is currently only sold in China at a price of 399 CNY (around €50). Magnetic bracelets for 169 CNY (around €22) and leather bracelets for 99 CNY (around €12) are available.

Xiaomi Watch S4: timid developments

Next comes the Xiaomi Watch S4 and its interchangeable bezel, which comes in two versions: one with eSIM and the other without. Its starting price in China is 999 CNY (around €130). The heiress of the Watch 3 still offers a 1.43-inch Amoled screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels with a peak brightness of 2,200 cd/m². In its 44.5g body, it includes most of the features mentioned for the Smart Band 9 Pro.

It notably adds the ability to make calls and listen to music without a phone, or to interact with messaging services and other Xiaomi devices from your wrist, including with a simple snap of your fingers. A rotating crown is also included to control the interface.

In terms of autonomy, with the 486 mAh battery the manufacturer announces 15 days in “normal use” and 5 days with the screen always on. See you, probably, in a few months to be able to get your hands on it outside of China.
