Following Netflix and of Prime Videoit's the turn of the Disney+ streaming platform to arrive with the new releases from its catalog in November 2024. A batch as usual (too) light, in which we save two interesting documentaries, a handful of series and the arrival of a new Marvel film.

As a preamble to the list of new releases from Disney+ for the month of November, here is, in our opinion, the series and film of the month on the service.

The Old Man – Season 2

Former Deputy Director of the FBI Harold Harper and former CIA agent Dan Chase go looking for Emily, the latter's daughter, after she is
kidnapped.

Two years after the first season, Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski, TRON) is back in the role of Dan Chase for a mission more personal than ever. A new chapter which digs a little deeper into its main character, and plays more of the retired John Wick card with a team of “old guns” – John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman – which is delicious to see take the rust out of the henchman.

Disney+ movie of the month

Elementary

In Element City, fire, water, earth and air live in perfect harmony. It is here that Flam resides, an intrepid young woman, quick-witted and with a strong character, and Flack, a boy who is both sentimental and amusing, rather a follower at heart. Their friendship challenges Flam's beliefs about the world.

Featuring sublime animation, a vibrant universe and surprisingly rich themes, Elementary has all the elements of a great studio film. If we regret too much a “Pixar recipe” that has become a bit conventional, the show is entertaining and the subtext deep and unexpected. A good vintage, and something to delight young and old alike.
