SearchGPT: ChatGPT search engine is now available
It's not only official, but already available: SearchGPT is finally accessible to everyone. So, if you prefer to trust artificial intelligence to carry out your web searches, SearchGPT will be the ideal solution. But then, how to use it? Note, first of all, that there is no “SearchGPT” site strictly speaking, contrary to what many expected. In reality, this is an update and addition to the already existing ChatGPT site.
So, to access it, go to this addressthen enter your ChatGPT credentials. You will now have direct access to the new search engine. To use it, it's quite simple: in the usual ChatGPT query area, a new search icon named “Search” is accessible. By clicking on it, you will search for information on the web using ChatGPT, rather than engaging in conversation with artificial intelligence as is currently the case.
But before you can use SearchGPT, you must meet the necessary conditions: either you have registered on the waiting list beforehand, or you are a ChatGPT Plus subscriber. If you don't have one or the other and you use ChatGPT for free, you will have to wait a little longer to be able to use the new functionality.
Moreover, SearchGPT seems to work like a classic search engine, offering the possibility of consulting maps (which are obviously not from Google Maps), the weather, the stock market or recent sports results. Time will tell if this web search model proves more relevant than what already exists on the market, and if ChatGPT will be able to threaten Google's hegemony in the field.
