With the Poco C75, Xiaomi recycles an already well-known smartphone
More famous for its mid-range smartphones with an often interesting balance between power and affordable price, Poco also has a few much less expensive models brought together within the C range.
After the C65 dating from the end of 2023, the Xiaomi brand returns with a C75 which plays the modesty card on a technical level. Examining it in detail, we see that it is the twin of a smartphone made official a little over a month ago, the Xiaomi Redmi 14C. We would even tend to prefer the new Poco model, since it is slightly better equipped for a lower price. It costs €151.90 in its simplest configuration, with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, while the Redmi 14C costs an additional €10, although with RAM limited to 4 GB.
Low price and great autonomy
Otherwise, the two smartphones are identical. Count on a large format (171.88 x 77.8 x 8.22 mm for 204 g), which is explained by the integration of a large 6.88-inch screen. Xiaomi delivers here an LCD panel displaying 1640 x 720 pixels, i.e. HD+ resolution, and carved with a punch in the shape of a drop of water.
Far from playing the modernity card in this area, despite a refresh rate announced at 120 Hz, the mobile hopes to compensate with adequate power and to do this relies on a Helio G81-Ultra chip, a very recent model from MediaTek, accompanied therefore 6 or 8 GB of RAM. Note that its 128 or 256 GB storage is expandable via a microSD card.
On the other hand, there is no question at this price level of 5G compatibility, this smartphone is satisfied with 4G. Given its equipment and the capacity of its battery (5160 mAh all the same with charging at 18 W), we can expect very good endurance from this terminal.
Entry-level requires, the Poco C75 offers a mini-jack socket, which it accompanies with Bluetooth 5.4 compatibility. We also note the possibility of securing the device using a fingerprint reader. Despite a back housing an imposing photo block, the C75 nevertheless makes do with a 50 megapixel (Mpx) sensor associated with wide-angle optics (f/1.8) and accompanied by a depth sensor, while the Selfies are provided by a 13 Mpx camera. Finally, let us point out that the terminal is announced under Android 14 with HyperOS.
