This is not the first time that we have discussed the connected home automation screen planned by Apple. At the end of last September, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg announced that the Apple firm was working on a brand new connected screen (a first for the firm, which has until now limited itself to connected speakers such as Homepod). This device would thus be able to make Facetime calls, but also to control various connected devices in the home. Today, this same Mark Gurman allows himself to be a little more precise about this new tool prepared by Apple.

A connected screen to control everything at home

According to the latest report from Mark Gurman, this new device would take the form of a 6-inch iPad, with a camera, a rechargeable battery and speakers. Two color options will be provided: black and silver. According to Bloomberg, this new hardware is designed to take into account and make the most of the latest applications and services linked to Apple's artificial intelligence. The goal, in reality, is to allow the object to control various home automation applications and tasks based on Apple intelligence.

Moreover, this tool could be used like most other connected screens for the home: it could also be used to show photo slideshows, or even show the calendar, time, etc. It will also be a way to improve the security of your home: the tool will be able to give security alerts and show images from a camera (if you have one posted at the entrance to your home). at home, for example). On the operating system side, this connected screen should use a new OS called Pebble (probably just a code name at the moment).

Until now, we knew that this new device would be available in 2025, but no more precise date was known. According to Mark Gurman, this connected screen will be available from next March, which would almost coincide with the arrival of Apple Intelligence in France. We still have to wait for an official announcement from Apple about this brand new product.
