While CES in Las Vegas has barely started, Samsung is already announcing two new soundbars to complete its range of televisions. The brand's new flagship, the HW-Q990F replaces the HW-Q990Dwhile the HW-QS700F gives pride of place to innovation by offering a format never before encountered by the South Korean giant.

Samsung HW-Q990F: more compact subwoofer and revisited design

If the HW-Q995F uses the 11.1.4 channel architecture of its predecessor, with identically arranged speakers and the same wireless rear speakers, it still benefits from a stylistic update. The upper side of the soundbar is now equipped with a metallic acoustic grille with horizontal lines, very different from the one integrated on the front.

However, the main novelty of this premium soundbar is the introduction of a new wireless subwoofer. Called Y25, this model would be capable of offering much better performance than its predecessor Y24 despite being twice as compact. It now includes two 20 cm speakers mounted back to back. According to Samsung, this configuration would drastically reduce unwanted vibrations in order to obtain a lower distortion rate.

Furthermore, this new design is complemented by AI NonLinear Control technology, which would contribute to the reproduction of rich and precise bass despite a small cabinet size.

Samsung HW-QS700F: a convertible soundbar with Q-Symphony Eco

The HW-QS700F is a 3.1.2 soundbar composed of two front speakers, two vertical speakers, a central channel and a Y25 subwoofer. It has a completely new convertible format at Samsung, allowing it to deliver immersive Dolby Atmos effects whether it is placed on a piece of furniture or mounted on a wall. Indeed, depending on its placement, the front speakers transform into Atmos channels, and vice versa.

The HW-QS700F also marks the introduction of Q-Symphony Eco, a new technology for syncing up to three audio devices with a Samsung TV. Thus, the user can complete his system using a pair of Music Frame acting as surround speakers. This innovation works in tandem with Q-Symphony Auto Set Up, which uses the TV's microphones to analyze room acoustics and optimize the Music Frames' sound signature based on their location.

Introduction to Eclipsa Audio and Active Voice Amplifier Pro technologies

Both the HW-Q990F and HW-QS700F soundbars feature Eclipsa Audio, a new three-dimensional format created by Samsung and Google. This technology is intended to be an alternative to other 3D virtualization formats. Open source, it would also have the ambition to integrate products from other manufacturers without imposing licensing fees. Note that it is currently necessary to use a Samsung 2025 television to benefit from it.

At the same time, Samsung also announced Active Voice Amplifier Pro, a technology that automatically amplifies dialogue when the soundbar detects noises in the surrounding area.

If no release date has yet been confirmed by Samsung, the HW-Q990F should not present a price increase compared to the HW-Q995D at the time of its launch (€1,499). The HW-QS700F, for its part, should of course be less expensive than the very high-end HW-Q990F.
