CES 2025 – Lenovo is heading towards AI with its new Android tablets
This was the trend in 2024, and it will be just as much in 2025: artificial intelligence is the key word in many products arriving on the market. Lenovo is no exception to the rule, in the field of IT first, which saw a number of announcements as part of CES 2025but also in that of touchscreen tablets. Also at the Las Vegas show, the Chinese giant unveils new slates, including a Yogo Tab Plus model presented as “the first tablet with integrated AI”.
To meet this promise, the Yoga Tab Plus relies on a well-known chip in the smartphone world: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which has equipped a large part of the premium smartphones of 2024. This includes an NPU designed for artificial intelligence, and allows the tablet to promise the execution of AI functionalities on-devicethat is to say without going through the cloud. Lenovo mentions an AI Note writing assistant, automatic voice-to-text transcription (AI Transcript) and its AI Now work assistant. It should be noted that such a device is above all designed to ensure a comfortable working experience. And it goes without saying that it runs Android, here in version 15.
In addition to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 accompanied at best by 16 GB of RAM, the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus has a 12.7-inch LCD screen (2944 x 1840, 144 Hz refresh rate and 900 cd/m² brightness) including Lenovo indicates having taken care of the anti-reflective treatment. The tablet is compatible with WiFi 7, has 13 Mpx photo sensors on the front and back and a 10,200 mAh battery. Note that this model comes with a Tab Pen Pro stylus and can be accompanied by a keyboard. Count on a starting price of €699 and availability during January.
Two other tablets join the Lenovo catalog. The Idea Tab Pro also adopts a 12.7-inch format: its screen is similar to that of the Yoga Tab Plus, except that the manufacturer announces a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m². It also indicates that this device is available in a “Matte Edition” which we look forward to verifying if it really reduces reflections by 95%, as the brand specifies. In any case, the Idea Tab Pro is powered by a Dimensity 8300 chip from MediaTek (seen within the Xiaomi Poco X6 Profor example), 8 GB of RAM and a 10,200 mAh battery too. Launched under Android 14, but with Gemini and the Circle to search function, the tablet will cost €399 in its cheapest configuration, with a stylus provided.
The prize for low price is nevertheless won by a third model, the Lenovo Tab. If the details of its technical sheet remain to be clarified, we now know that its screen has a diagonal of 10.1 inches and that it is designed for simple uses, such as browsing the Internet and watching videos. This model is expected by June at a price of €149.
