Since 2017, the City of Cenon has commissioned the AFAV association (Asian Frelon Association Vespavelutina) to intervene free of charge in public spaces and in private homes, in order to destroy reported nests.
Destroying a nest is one solution, but preventing it from being built by trapping the founders when they come out of hibernation is much more effective! In good weather, a nest can contain up to 150 foundresses.
To curb the proliferation of this invasive and dangerous pest, the AFAV is organizing a distribution of traps to install in your garden and explains the instructions for use: Wednesday February 19, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. / 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., at the Maison des associations.
