Captain America 4: a new enigmatic trailer for the next Marvel film
The (very) busy year 2025 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins on February 12 with the release of Captain America: Brave New World. To gently prepare for its arrival in cinemas, the next part of the MCU has just revealed a brand new trailer, more brutal and mysterious than ever.
The Leader remains in the shadows
What will Captain America's new mission look like? This is the question we can ask ourselves, one month before the theatrical release of Brave New World. If the new trailer unveiled last night by Marvel Studios finally reveals the central and political role of adamantium (the alloy of Wolverine's claws) in the story, it seems to keep several of its assets hidden.
Among the mysteries surrounding the plot of the film, the importance of the role of the Leader played by Tim Blake Nelson (O'Brother), which we can only see in the shadows in these new images. Aside from the threats Red Hulk (Harrison Ford) and Sidewinder (Giancarlo Esposito), it appears that the character is the real supervillain pulling the strings in the background.
As a reminder, Samuel Sterns aka The Leader is a professor and cellular biologist who was looking for a cure for Bruce Banner in the film The Incredible Hulk (released in 2008). He found himself infected by his blood, and his mind underwent a mutation which increased his mental abilities.
Whatever his true role in the film, it's not the official synopsis that will tell us much more: “After meeting with newly elected US President Thaddeus Ross, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must uncover the reason behind a nefarious global conspiracy before the true mastermind of the operation turns the world red. “

You will have noticed that the trailer also seems to play the card of passing the torch more than ever, starting with images ofAvengers: Endgame where Steve Rogers passes the shield to Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon.
This connection seems to be the best asset of the Marvel film to attract hesitant spectators to take their tickets, while the first forecasts from the box office are out. These can still evolve, but for the moment its first weekend of operation is announced between 86 and 95 million dollars, in the same waters as Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014.
The film obviously underwent complicated production and numerous rewrites. The latest rumors indicate that the test screenings were inconclusive and that reshoots even took place at the end of December. Is this a harbinger of a sick film? Answer on February 12 in French cinemas.
Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox), and will count on a cast of great names: Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, Giancarlo Esposito, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, Danny Ramirez, Rosa Salazar, Tim Blake Nelson…
Note that after this film, the feature film Thunderbolts * arrives in cinemas on April 30 to close phase 5 of the MCU, and that Fantastic Four will be released on July 23 in cinemas to begin phase 6.
