OnePlus: first update of 2025 available, here are the new features

OnePlus persists in its efforts around the software monitoring of its smartphones. After announcing in August 2024 the move to a monthly update system, the Chinese firm kept its promise by delivering new versions in September, October, November and December. Good news, the first update of 2025 has just been launched in January: V30P01.

Via its community blogthe brand also details the improvements made. To begin with, the Photos application offers a repeat mode for video playback, suggestions for freeing up space and even smart albums.

The OnePlus Recorder benefits from 30 days of storage before final archiving for audio recordings placed in the trash, while the Weather now displays a preview of weather information before adding a new city.

We also discover that the Partial Screenshot function will no longer display a floating preview window after the screenshot, and that an infrared remote control can now be used to take photos (only under OxygenOS 15).

An update has also appeared for the OnePlus 13with the main new feature being support for the model Gemini Nano from Google. Running directly on the brand's latest high-end smartphone, the latter makes it possible to optimize the operation of AI capabilities, but also to use some of them without an internet connection (such as magic writing).

THE patch note of this version also includes improvements in communications with “Touch to share” to easily share content with iPhones, the camera or even audio.
