The creators of the show, Jon Watts and Christopher Ford then spoke about it on the microphone ofEntertainment Weekly. Beware of spoilers if you haven't seen the end of season 1 yet!

At Attin's place in the Star Wars universe

At the end of the first season of Skeleton CrewWim, Fern and company manage to foil Jod's plans and save At Attin with the help of their parents and Republic soldiers. All is then (almost) well that ends well, because the Barrier protecting their planet is destroyed, henceforth exposing At Attin to the rest of the galaxy and its dangers.

Questioned by our colleagues from EW about their ideas for a season 2 of Skeleton Crewthe creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford explained that now that At Attin is no longer separated from the rest of the galaxy, it could be impacted by what is happening in the other Star Wars series.

“If historic events occur in the galaxy, they will inevitably affect everyone” Ford explained.

The two writers add that the end of the first season of Skeleton Crew leaves the door open to many ideas regarding the direction the series could take next, but they clarify that they are not yet at the stage of knowing if the show really has a future: “We have not yet looked into the matter further.” Watts explains.

He continues: “I live in New York, Ford is in Oakland, but most of the people we work with on the show live in Los Angeles and are dealing with reality right now. So as far as what's next, we can't wait. discuss it with everyone, but for the moment everyone is busy with the tragedies caused by the fires.”

“But we are enthusiastic”continues the director-screenwriter. “The series continues to find its audience and the episodes are slowly gaining audience so we are happy to see it grow and that the word of mouth is positive.”

Ford adds that while nothing is written yet, they had ideas about the direction the series could take in the future before the first season even saw the light of day, and that they hope others will see everything too. this potential.

As for the question of what they would do with the fact that the children at the heart of Skeleton Crew grow up and will very quickly be in full puberty, Watts explained that if the show returns for a season 2, they will not ignore this aspect.

“We wouldn't pretend they were just six months older if we continued the series,” Watts said. “It's fun to think about them growing up and wondering what place they have in the galaxy and how their world will change following the events of the first season.”

Interesting indeed! It remains to be seen whether Skeleton Crew will end up being popular enough for the thinking heads at Lucasfilm to give it more episodes. In the meantime, we Digitalhave been rather conquered by the series and we wouldn't be against a new wave of episodes in the future.
