Donald Trump promised to save TikTok, the application took him at his word. Only 12 hours after its ban, the social network is restoring its services in the United States.

“In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring its service”the company said in a statement. “We thank President Trump for providing necessary clarity and assurances to our service providers that they will not face any sanctions in providing TikTok to more than 170 million Americans and enabling more than 7 million small businesses to thrive.”
Earlier today, President-elect Donald Trump announced an executive order to delay the ban, specifying “that there would be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok in business before his executive order.”
Donald Trump's statement was enough for TikTok and its service providers. The journalists of TechCrunch confirmed that the app is still working as of its release, shortly after 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Donald Trump also indicated that his first decision will concern an agreement to maintain TikTok will involve “a joint venture between current owners and/or new owners where the United States would get a 50% stake.”
In its press release, TikTok states “working with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”
