France Identity can now replace your train ticket on the TGV INOUI

For several months, it has been undeniable that the developers behind the France Identity application have been making efforts to make the solution ever more useful and essential. Just a few days after simplifying its operation by allowinguse a FranceConnect service with your smartphone locked without having to scan your electronic identity card, here is a new innovation. Since January 20, a QR code generated in the France Identity application can act as a train ticket during an on-board check.

An INCREDIBLE (but limited) addition to France Identity

Let us note from the outset that for the moment this is still a limited experiment which requires the beta version of the France Identity application. In addition, only the TGV INOUI are concerned at the time of writing these lines. However, before greater democratization among all users of the application (which still requires a CNIe), this new feature allows you to do without your ticket or your identity document, particularly in the case of holding a an INOUI TV subscription or an SNCF Voyageurs advantage card.

Of course, you will always have to buy a train ticket before getting on board, but you will also need to provide your name, first name and date of birth when purchasing so that the link between the SNCF and the app is established. In addition, to pass the gantries on the platforms, the train ticket will always be required.

A simple first activation

In addition to respecting the conditions above, an initial activation of the QR Code system within France Idêtes is necessary to be able to benefit from this functionality. In the app, swipe your ID card to the right, then tap the button at the bottom right. Then enter your personal code, then scan your identity card using NFC. Subsequently, only the first step, which will then display a QR Code, will be necessary.
