In a few weeks, Google will reveal its brand new Google Pixel 9a, to complete its Pixel 9 range launched last year. But already, his successor is talking about him. The leak comes from the AndroidAuthority sitewhich jointly obtained information on the Google Pixel 10a and the next Google Pixel 11 range. Let's start with the Pixel 11: according to the leak, four models should be planned by the American giant for this new range. Here's their code name: The Pixel 11 has the code “cubs”, while the Pixel 11 Pro is called “grizzly” internally. For the Pixel 11 Pro XL, Google refers to it as “kodiak” while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is referred to as “yogi”. These four models will also use a Tensor G6 chip, called “malibu” internally.

The Pixel 10a could feature a 2-year-old chip

Nothing really surprising about this information: the most surprising thing is what Google plans to do with its Pixel 10a. While the Pixel 9a no longer has any secrets for usthe Pixel 10a is already starting to reveal itself. Thus, according to Android Authority, Google is currently at the very beginning of its development, and for the moment, the firm is uncertain about its choice of processor to support it.

Thus, the American giant would be choosing between bringing a personalized version of the Tensor G5 chip used in the Pixel 10, or choosing a Tensor G4 chip (and thus limiting costs). Until now, Google has always used the same chip for its Pixel a range as the one revealed earlier for its classic Pixel models. But obviously, this could change for a next iteration of the range. Suffice to say that, if Google were to choose the Tensor G4 chip for its Pixel 10a, this implies that the processor will have been used for three years in a row (Pixel 9, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10a), which would simply be unprecedented for the firm. The idea is obviously to lower the production costs of this new model, but this could result in disappointing performance for a 2025/2026 model.
