Since January 20, 2025 and the coming to power of Donald Trumpthe new uncompromising policy of the American president is felt on all levels, of Google has Tiktokand streaming platforms are not spared.
The last giant to submit to Trump's “hard” line is none other than The Walt Disney Company and in particular Its Disney+ streaming platform. The studio will thus change the message that has been displayed so far before the classic films deemed problematic.
Back to square one
If you are fans of Disney animation classics, it is likely that you have already seen this message before the film's launch:
“This program contains negative representations and/or ill -treatment towards people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong at the time and are always so. Rather than deleting this content, we want to recognize its harmful impact, draw from them Lessons and arouse discussions to create a more inclusive future together.

This warning has been present since 2020 before several ancient films of negative, racist or stereotypical representations, and which need a welcome perspective in particular for the younger generations. This entered the program of “diversity, equity and inclusion” (or DEI) of the firm.
The animated productions or real shots hitherto affected by this message are:
- Fantasia (1940)
- Dumbo (1941)
- Peter Pan (1953)
- Beauty and the tramp (1955)
- The Robinsons of the South Merds (1960)
- The Jungle Book (1967)
- Aristochats (1970)

But all of this is about to change, since Disney will line up with Donald Trump's anti-DEI policy, which abhorred these ideas of inclusiveness and diversity. In addition to the removal of equality and inclusion programs (“Stories Matter” and “Reimagine Tomorrow) of the firm's internet sites, the long warning message of its Disney+ streaming platform is considerably reduced.
Thus, he is about to return to his very first version, very refined, dating from 2019: “This program is presented as originally created and can contain stereotypes or negative representations.”

This streaming service update will be effective in the coming weeks. An eminently political decision on the part of Disney so as not to cut themselves off from part of its customers, and that everyone will judge according to their values.
If Google, Meta, Amazon and others also complied with this conservative turn, it should be remembered that other companies have maintained their progressive CAP, like Apple which has positioned itself against a stop of its Dei programs.
