After Yamaha and Honda, Suzuki produces electric 50cc

Suzuki was the last of the four major Japanese manufacturers not to offer an electrical solution yet. With E-Addressit is now done. Developed by Suzuki Motorcycle India, this model is based on the Address 125, a thermal scooter that he can see in our streets.

However, this new model is closer to a 50 CC in terms of power. Under its fairing, the E-Address has an electric motor of 4 kW (5.4 hp), offering a torque of 15 Nm. Its autonomy is announced at 87 km, thanks to a lithium-fer-phosphate battery (LFP) 3.07 kWh, renowned for its longevity and increased safety.

On the recharge side, it will take 6:40 a.m. on a classic socket for a full load. A point that could slow down certain buyers, especially since the battery is not removable as on the Yamaha Neo's or the Honda Em1 e.

The E-Address displays modern equipment, although classic for the segment. It has a 4.2 -inch color TFT screen with smartphone connectivity and simplified navigation. Another peculiarity: it incorporates a rear -term mode, a functionality still rare on electric scooters, even if its usefulness seems limited to a scooter of only 122 kg.

The scooter also offers three driving modes:

  • Eco: promotes autonomy by limiting power.
  • Mode A: Increases regenerative braking for more engine brakes.
  • Mode B: simulates the behavior of a thermal scooter with less engine brake.

On the technical level, the E-Address is based on a tubular frame, a telescopic fork at the front and a shock absorber at the rear. Its saddle height of 765 mm makes it accessible to all. Braking level, it is however limited to a disc at the front and a drum at the back.

Launch in India before Europe

Suzuki plans to market the E-Address in India in April 2025, before arriving in Europe by the end of 2025. This launch is part of a wider strategy of the manufacturer, which aims to introduce eight electric models from here 2030.
