Telephone canvassing: I tested several solutions to stop unwanted calls, here are the ones that work
Slide the phone under a saucepan and hit hard on it, pretend to be someone who does not understand or, even more hilarious, use the ineffective blocktel … There are lots of outlets against Telephone canvassing. Las, behind these tips hides a much less entertaining reality.
Every day, these unsolicited calls disturb our lives, interfering without invitation. We think we have found the parade, we hope to be able to ignore them, but they always come back, persistent like a private poodle on a human leg. It's time to act with method. And precisely, I share the ones that worked for me in mode: “Me, when I was done too much, I correction more, I dimite, I say, I go.”
1/ Extract with telephone canvassing with the filtering of canvassing indicatives
First, there is the so -called “large digital household” technique. To this end, I created a contact on my phone entitled “Unwanted calls”, in which I recorded the telephone indicatives specifically allocated to commercial canvassing. Indeed, since January 1, 2023, the authorities have reserved certain prefixes for this use, in particular:
- 0162*
- 0163*
- 0270*
- 0271*
- 0377*
- 0378*
- 0424*
- 0425*
- 0568*
- 0569*
- 0948*
- 0949*
And for the overseas territories, here are the prefixes to add:
- 09475* (Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy)
- 09476* (Guyana)
- 09477* (Martinique)
- 09478* and 09479* (Reunion, Mayotte)
The asterisk at the end of each indicative allows you to automatically block all the numbers starting with it, without having to add them by one. Once this contact has been created, I just blocked it. Result: no more parasitic calls from these numbers. This method works on both iPhone and Android, and it is formidably effective.
Here's how to do it, step by step:
- Open the Contacts application On your smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- Add a new contact Named “unwanted calls”, for example.
- In the field NumberEnter the following prefixes, separated by commas: 0162*, 0163*, 0270*, 0271*, 0377*, 0378*, 0424*, 0425*, 0568*, 0569*, 0948*, 0949*, 09475*, 09476*, 09477*, 09478*, 09479*.
- Save contact.
- Block This contact.
You can also download This list.
If you receive other unwanted calls, simply add the numbers concerned in contact. And to help your loved ones also avoid unwanted calls, share it via SMS, email or any other method available on your device.
2/ Legal opposition to the processing of personal data
Despite everything, when a call for canvassing manages to join me, I turn on my code (legal) and brandished a powerful legal weapon. As soon as the interlocutor begins his commercial blah, I interrupt him by declaring: “I inform you that I oppose any processing of my personal data and ask you to immediately delete my number of your files, under article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD).”
Bim !, This injunction forces them to comply and, generally, ends the exchange decisively. In addition, it can delete my number from several call lists at once.
For fraudulent or not asked SMS, I block contact and systematically transfers the message to number 33 700. This free service allows operators to take measures against abusive sender. Simple and efficient.
Thanks to these three strategies, I found tranquility on my phone. Telephone canvassing may never disappear completely, but for my part, I am more unusual and my blood pressure monitor is wisely in its drawer.
End note : In addition to the aforementioned solutions, I tested several options: the Orange Telephone application, which automatically blocks the canvassing calls and filters the majority of the undesirable, although some still go between its stitches. I also tried incogni for a year to delete my data from the bases of the brokers, but the results were not visible. As for Bloctel, let's forget, it's homeopathy, not horse treatment.
