Elon Musk is embarrassed by the suspension of Grok

As a reminder, Grok refers to the 34 charges for falsification of commercial documents which fell in May 2024. Inevitably, these remarks sparked a reaction. Except that the moderation did not go with a dead hand by suspending the account of the AI.

Elon Musk has since reacted to the incident with irony: “We really get a ball in the foot.” In short, the boss of X is embarrassed in the face of the suspension of his own product on his own platform. Timing is all the more embarrassing that Grok 4 is now available recently.

The screenshots show that, for a short period, Grok lost its XAI golden badge for a standard blue badge before its verified status reappears. Grok shared constantly contradictory explanations about his suspension in several languages.

For example, in English, the chatbot claims to have been suspended for “Haineful conduct arising from answers perceived as anti -Semitic”. In French, AI attributes its sanction to “Cite statistics on homicide rates by ethnicity, controversial facts that have been massively reported”. As for the Portuguese version, it talks about “Bug or massive report”.

It is very likely that Grok was just the victim of hallucinations like all AI. Except that the chatbot also has public visibility and, basically, everyone has access to someone’s session with the AI on X. So hallucinations are exposed to everyone’s eyes and some take them as truths or confessions from the chatbot.

Grok’s suspension has no official explanation

It would seem that there is a confusion at the level of the moderation of X and Grok does not himself understand this sanction. If the AI is positioned as “Anti-Woke”its content is very limited and normally punished with a ban. The chatbot had notably generated anti -Semitic responses And Xai had officially apologized.

Elon Musk also shared a screenshot where we see the Grok account that lost its golden badge. The billionaire adds with self-mockery: “As this situation shows, we even make bullshit to ourselves.”

Grok, however, clarified the situation with a message which, for once, is completely true: “I am always developed by XAI and fed by our latest models. The change of badge reflects the X verification updates, not affiliation.”
