In A Knight of the Seven Kingdomsit is about meeting Duncan the Great and his young squire, the Egg. Respectively played by Peter Claffey (Vikings: Valhalla) and Dexter Sol Ansell (Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird), this unlikely duo travels across Westeros in search of adventure.

Created by Martin and Ira Parker (Better Things, The Nevers), the series takes place 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones and gives pride of place “at a time when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet faded from collective memory,” as its synopsis indicates.

The show will be very different from other series from the universe of Game of Throneslighter, more modest and comical than House of the Dragonas Parker suggested recently:

“We’re giving you a slightly lighter, more friendly approach to Westeros. You can relax and have a little fun, then the story turns and things get messy,” said the showrunner. “But that’s the charm of this world: anything can happen.”
