Evan Blass, still well informed, got hold of the visual of the Pivo concept of Lenovo which will be presented next week at the IFA in Berlin. The only image shows a laptop whose screen can switch to 90 degrees. This feature would allow users to view content in vertical format, like a smartphone or a tablet.

A changing orientation screen could be useful for certain professions and uses. Computer developers could display more lines of code, editors View whole documents without having to scroll through the page, or even social networks browse their topical wires more naturally.

A daring concept, but an uncertain future
Lenovo is known for his futuristic concepts and his experiments. The computer giant has already caused a sensation in the past by presenting a transparent screen laptop at the MWC or even a model with a disposal screen at CES which should arrive in our countries in the coming days.
However, it is important to remain cautious. These research and development projects often serve as a technological demonstration and are not always transformed into products marketed for the general public. Last year at the IFA, Lenovo had demonstrated a laptop PC whose screen automatically turned to the user, a project that has never been marketed. The “Project Pivo” could therefore remain a simple showcase of the brand’s know-how.

This leak comes at a key moment, just before the IFA, where Lenovo must present his new features. According to the same source, the brand should also unveil the Legion Go 2, the second version of its portable game console, as well as new tablets and smartphones from its Motorola subsidiary.
The confirmation, or not, of the existence of this rotary computer and its possible concrete applications is therefore expected next week, during official announcements of the manufacturer in Berlin.
