Tesla bets a lot on autonomous driving. This is therefore a demonstration of force of what its technology is capable of doing. A video has even been published on X And shows this feat of the automotive industry.
The Tesla Model rolls alone there until its owner
The vehicle delivered automatically is therefore a Y model, Model used by Tesla Robotaxis launched two weeks ago in Austin. Tesla explains that the car has “Made alone from the Gigafactory in Texas to the home of its owner, thirty minutes away, while browsing parking lots and highways”.
This is a thirty -minute distance in the area where Tesla’s Robotaxis are currently operating. It is not surprising: these autonomous vehicles are not yet ready and are limited to a few districts in Austin with a human on board for security.
However, a user discovered by reconstructing the journey of Model Y on Google Maps that the electric vehicle still avoids difficult intersections. The company therefore relies on caution despite this demonstration.
Is it a new era for car deliveries with vehicles that go to their owners themselves? Tesla could pave the way for a change in the distribution mode. Even if unfortunately, we imagine that in some cases, delivery could go wrong with accidents on the journey.
