“Accident and radar reported”: Waze will finally correct this bug which annoys all drivers

Today, Waze Prioritizes a single report: if radar, accident and nest-of-the-pave are posted in the same place, only the most important alert is announced vocally. The others stay on the screen, invisible if you don’t look. An irritating and dangerous situation. But the Waze teams decided to change this.

Waze prepares the merger of alerts: more clarity, less stress behind the wheel
The idea is not new, but it is now on track. For a long time, Waze operated according to a priority logic: faced with several close events, only the alert deemed the most critical was vocalized. The others were briefly displayed on the screen, without being relayed by vocal synthesis. An approach designed to avoid overloading information – but which, in fact, could deprive motorists of essential information.
This operation will change. Waze’s development team has confirmed that the possibility of merge several alerts is now integrated into the roadmap. Objective: to allow the application to announce, in a single sentence, several consecutive dangers. Concretely, instead of a sober “reported accident”, the user may hear: “accident and radar reported on your route”. A simple reformulation, but which changes everything on journeys where reports accumulate.
This change will concern both vocal and visual alerts. The idea is to offer a clearer, less fragmented display, without drowning the screen under the icons. No specific date has been communicated, but the functionality is indeed in active development.
For millions of French people who use Waze daily, it is a long -awaited improvement. And this time, she finally seems to be on the right track.
