This campaign in solo mode features a gloomy television series on the paranormal called zone X. American Nightmare is an exaggerated and realistic representation of this world, where horrors have the annoying tendency to come to life. When Wake finds himself trapped in the dark alternative reality of zone X, he must embark on the kits of his double, the diabolical M. Groance, in order to find answers to his questions. A serial killer with supernatural powers, Groance is obsessed with Alice, Wake’s wife, and has only one idea in mind, eliminate Wake. To survive these sinister nights, Wake must learn to control reality and unravel the mysteries that surround Zone X, armed with its precious-horch lamp and any weapon that falls on hand.
It is in the brand new arcade mode “fight up to dawn”, that Wake will have to fight for his life. The players will have the task of surviving an entire night to brutal attacks while raising their scoring. From the good old distress pistol, to the essential nail pistol, via Uzi, the predilection weapon of Remedy, as much to say that Wake has an arsenal of weapons as numerous as formidable to overcome these endless waves of enemies. And fortunately for him, the environment is dotted with places to take refuge and weapons to unlock to allow Wake to take some moments of respite, far from darkness.
