Prime Video officially gave the green light to the series Carrie Mike Flanagan (The fall of the Usher house,, The Haunting of Hill House). Adapted from Stephen King cult novelthis series in eight episodes will be supervised by Flanagan at showrunner and executive producer posts. He is also a screenwriter on the project and will carry out several episodes.

The casting of the show has already started and Summer H. Howell (Hunter Hunter) would be in negotiations to embody Carrie, while Siena Agodong (resident Evil) should play his Sue Snell rival.

The series Carrie is described as “A daring and conducive reinvention” From King. As a reminder, the latter follows the story of Carrie White, a shy and lonely teenager who undergoes the incessant mockery of her classmates and the religious education of her mother, and one day discovers on strange telekineal powers.

“Carrie is an emblematic story that has gone through ages and continues to be culturally relevant,” said Vernon Sanders, television director at Amazon MGM Studios. “With Mike Flanagan at the controls and a talented team, including the executive producer Trevor Macy, this provocative series will captivate our customers around the world.”

Ron Moore seizes Tiger and Dragon

If you don't know the Steel crane penalogyseries of novels of the Chinese author Wang Dulu published between 1938 and 1944, you may know the film Tiger and Dragon From Ang Lee, released in 2000 with Michelle Yeoh, Chow Yun-Fat and Zhang Ziyi, who adapted the fourth novel.

It is this same book that will be the subject of a new adaptation at Prime Video, in serial version this time. The project has been in Amazon pipes for two years, and we now know that Jason Ning (The Sun brothers) is the scriptwriter and executive producer with Ronald D. Moore (Outland) Via Sony Pictures Television with whom the two men are under contract.

As emphasizes Deadline,, Tiger and Dragon follows the story of Shu Lin and Li Mu Bai, two cursed warriors, while they are torn by a forbidden love and the attraction of modernity, taken between the preservation of their lifestyle or the adoption of a future together.

If we do not yet know if Prime Video will give the green light to the production of this new adaptation, this is the second big series projects to which Moore is attached for the platform, for whom he also prepares the adaptation of the game God of War.
