“The Sneaker Ex89 is inspired by the 1989 gel-extreme basketball shoe, with an ultra modern cushioning.

Created by Toshikazu Kayano in the late 1980s, it was its first design with Asics. Leather overlays at the level of the stem have color-block details, a nod to the emblematic outfits of the NBA teams of the time.

We have improved the cushioning system using our FF Blast technology. The shape of the heel marries the foot for maximum comfort on a daily basis.

The pattern of the outsole represents a city seen from the sky. This practical adhesion feature finds its original inspiration in the designer’s first business trip to the United States in 1987. ”
