Banana nano: the generation of images by Google is often stunning

With Banana Nano, no need to use manual retouching software, you change everything thanks to AI and a small sentence or two. We tried it in some photos, the result is striking.

Google wants to compete with everyone with its tools, starting here with Adobe, but also Chatgpt, which offers similar features.

In Gemini 2.5 Flash Image-Preview, Banana Nano allows you to correct, retouch, modify an image with simple textual requests. You no longer need to know the interfaces, sometimes very complex, of retouching software.

So why use Photoshop or other tools, when this super practical feature is now available? Let’s see the result on some tests that we carried out, during our handling of Banana Nano.

Sometimes impressive features

With such an AI tool, you can ask everything, as long as the changes are not too complex. However, the field of possibilities is wide, we have carried out some tests, from the simplest to the most complex.

At first, modifying a text on an image is done in a few seconds, it seems to be child’s play for Gemini. We asked him to modify a text without even specifying that he had to keep the same police, he did so brilliantly.

For a second test, we asked the tool to duplicate an object, and we did not expect such a spectacular result. If the instruction is well understood by the tool, Google does something difficult to do with Photoshop, the perspective. Without asking him, the tool tilts the cameras a little and adds material for an impeccable result. Bluffing.

Some limitations

Obviously, Google Gemini with Banana Nano is not perfect, he does not always understand to perfection and sometimes, it must be asked for several times. We have noticed that it is better to ask him only one thing at a time. Here in particular, wine glasses (to be consumed in moderation) have been added, but the subject’s face was somewhat modified. The arm has been added in full and the dimensions are not really well respected, the hair is not longer.

The other limitation is the watermark that is added in the photos, with the Gemini logo at the bottom right. It is not disturbing, however, you can … ask another AI to remove it, because Gemini will categorically refuse to remove the watermark. This can be understood, for copyright reasons and legal reasons.

Difficult also to ask the tool to refine the silhouette to you, apart from perfectly framed and straight photos. Otherwise, the result will be nonexistent and the disappointment will be present. In any case, this new gemini feature will be carn for photo editors of photo editing software.
