Bar Series MK2: JBL launches 5 sound bars, from the entry level to the modular atmosphere system

JBL had made a remarkable breakthrough on the home cinema market with its first generation of bars of its Series bar. Three years after its launch, the brand capitalizes on this success with the MK2 Series bar, marked by a plethora of updates and improvements.

This new range revolves around no less than 5 models with aesthetics faithful to that of their elders, whose prices oscillate between 400 and 1500 €. The 800mk2, 1000mk2 and bar 1300mk2 bar, the highest -end of them are accompanied by lows of bass and a modular design, characterized by their detachable speakers intended to be placed at the rear of the listening position. More modest, the 300mk2 bar and the 500mk2 bar are more on an all-in-one design, with or without a box included.

Overall, all the bars stand out from their elders by more refined control interfaces and low -revisited design boxes. For each of them, there is also a most complete connectivity, with a Bluetooth receiver and a Wi-Fi module allowing loss-free musical diffusion via the AirPlay 2 protocols, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, etc. Of course, the range is always easily controlled via the JBL One App (iOS & Android) application.

Evolutionary proprietary technologies, introduction of SmartDetail and AI Sound Boost

Among the updates, there is first of all on the introduction of multibeam 3.0 three -dimensional virtualization technology. This would increase the feeling of immersion with the bars of its conceived of a block, and can be used to strengthen that of compatible modular iterations Dolby Atmos and DTS: x. In addition, JBL would have changed its technology for improving purevoice dialogues in a version 2.0. Thanks to her, we would benefit from always perfectly intelligible voice, whatever the type of scene.

Some new features are also on the program, such as SmartDetail and AI Sound Boost technologies. The first would be able to highlight the most subtle sound details, while the second promises bass devoid of distortion, regardless of the sound volume.

JBL Bar Bar 1300mk2: a flagship with boosted architecture

Standard holder of the range, the 1300MK2 bar is distinguished from its predecessor by a new subwoofer, with a pair of woofers 20 cm mounted back to back. This is the only one in the range to be compatible with a sound boost. Its sound architecture has also been improved, with two wide strip loudspeakers on the front and two additional side units on its detachable parts. Thus, the total number of speakers is now 29, compared to 25 for the first 1300 bar by the name. It also promises a total management of the Dolby Atmos and DTS effects: X thanks to six loudspeakers oriented upwards, two of which are integrated into surround speakers. Finally, note that the 1300mk2 bar is the only one in the series whose detachable speakers also act as Bluetooth speakers.

Model 7.4.1 Developing a total power of 960 W, the 1000MK2 bar is like the other Dolby Atmos/DTS model: X of the range. More modest than the 1300mk2 bar, it only has two vertical-facing speakers, as well as a more conventional subwoofer with a simple woofer 25 cm. The 800mk2 bar stands out from the 1000mk2 bar by the absence of vertical speakers and a more small size, intended for a more confined room. It is still compatible with Dolby Atmos and includes the same subwoofer. Note that, like the 1300mk2 bar, the 1000mk2 and 800mk2 bar bar are delivered with detachable ends that can act as rear satellite speakers.

Entrance door to the MK2 Series bar, the 500mk2 and 300mk2 bar bar are distinguished by the absence of detachable speakers. The 500MK2 bar nevertheless benefits from the same subwoofer as the higher-end models, while the 300MK2 bar identifies as an all-in-one model is enough for itself. The two models retain the management of the Dolby Atmos.

The 300mk2, bar 500mk2, 800mk2 and bar 1000mk2 bar will be available for sale from June at respective prices of € 400, € 650, € 900 and € 1450. Sold at 1499 €, the 1300MK2 bar will be available in August.
