Difficult to touch an icon without disappointing. The 308 is Peugeot’s beating heart since 2021: a compact sedan that holds good in front of the SUVs, a national bestseller, and a technical base shared with a number of cousins of the Stellantis group. But in 2025, the wind turned. Faced with a golf that remains unbeatable in Europe, a Mégane e-tech which is gaining momentum, and Asian competition that exlects at full speedit was necessary to act. Peugeot did it. With subtlety.

New Peugeot 308 (2025): the expected restyling of a French star at the time of electrification
Visually, metamorphosis is frontal. Exit the vertical LEDs of The release version in 2021make way for a new light signature with three more aggressive claws. The grille adopts body painted body and even, homemade innovation, a backlit logo, a flashy but symbolic detail. From the front, the 308 changes tone. More mature, more tense, more in line with the codes inaugurated by the 3008.
At the back? Few visible changes. We keep DNA, we eliminate chrome. The LED lights with triple label become the norm on all versions. On board, nothing new on the architecture side, but the GT versions benefit from new 3D graphics, and the interior atmosphere is a little more refined, without upsetting the landmarks.

Under the hood, it is the electrification that holds the show. Diesel 130 hp resists. The light hybrid gains in power (145 hp), the rechargeable goes to 195 hp with 85 km of autonomy. And above all, the electric E-308 recovers the battery of the E-408: 58.4 kWh and up to 450 km WLTP announced. The engine remains at 156 hp, and the recharge still caps at 100 kW, a small regret against the 185 kW of a Cupra Born or the 165 of a mega.
The interior does not change fundamentally but remains spectacular. On GT and GT exclusive, the digital handset goes in 3D. The set keeps customizable i-toggles, and ergonomics centered on I-Cockpit. © Peugeot
The production remains in Mulhouse, orders will open in the fall. It remains to be seen so Peugeot will be able to correct the shot on the prices, because The first E-308 had started at a deterrent price, beyond € 47,000. At the time of the ecological bonus and tight economic arbitrations, this may be that everything will be played.
The GT station wagon retains its elegant line. Its large trunk (up to 1,487 liters) and its modularity make it one of the rare compact breaks still offered in France. © Peugeot
