This is one of the most confusing and tempting deals this Black Friday. Roborock offers its two 2025 flagships, the Saros 10 and the Saros 10R, at exactly the same price. At €899, we are facing a spectacular -40% discount (€600 saving) on ultra-high-end devices. Same dimensions, same power, same brand… and yet, they are technically very different. Which one should you put in your cart?

To help you choose, we have analyzed the results of our laboratories. Here’s what really sets them apart.

Roborock Saros 10: the LIDAR strategist

The Saros 10 uses impressive technology: retractable LiDAR (RetractSense). Normally, the turret is extended for perfect laser navigation. When it detects a low piece of furniture, it tucks its “head” into the frame to slide under it.

Test result : It is the most effective. His navigation is methodical, fast and he avoids obstacles (cables, boxes) excellently. Our test showed that it is much more “intelligent” when it comes to everyday pitfalls.

Roborock Saros 10R: the 3D visionary

The 10R completely abandons the turret. It is permanently flat and uses the StarSight 2.0 system (3D analysis via front/rear cameras).

Test result : This is where the problem lies. Although it’s flat, our testing revealed less mature navigation. It is slower, sometimes makes unnecessary trips and, downside, obstacle detection is less reliable. During our tests, it “swallowed” a cloth and knocked over objects that the Saros 10 had carefully avoided.

The washing match: vibration or rotation?

The other big difference is under the chassis. The Saros 10 uses a vibrating flat mop (VibraRise 4.0). This is the classic signature of the high-end Roborock while the Saros 10R borrows technology from the Qrevo range with two rotating pads.

The lab’s verdict : Draw on cleanliness. Whether oil or dried soda, both clean very well.

On the other hand, the maintenance system in the station differs. The Saros 10 uses a motorized brush to scrape its mop (effective but requires cleaning the filter). The Saros 10R uses a removable plastic tray. This is an advantage for the user: it is often easier to take out and rinse under the tap.

What it has in common (and why it’s a good deal)

Whatever your choice, at €899, you have access to cutting-edge technologies that are not found on €500-600 models:

  • Raised chassis (AdaptiLift): Both robots can raise their wheels to cross thresholds up to 4 cm. It is unique on the market.
  • All-in-one station: Emptying dust, filling water, washing and drying mops.
  • Suction power: Excellent on hard floors (98% of waste collected) and very good on carpets.

Verdict: Which one to choose?

Although the price is the same, our preference is clear after testing.

Choose the Roborock Saros 10 if you want the best navigation and peace of mind. This is our main recommendation. The retractable LiDAR system offers the best of both worlds: laser precision and finesse for getting under furniture. He is gentler with your belongings lying around and more logical in his movements. It is the most technically advanced robot.
