Boox renews its mid -range Android readers with the Go 7 and Go Color 7
A few months ago, we offered you the test of the Boox Note Air4 Ca kind of hybrid between a reader, a tablet and a digital notebook. This is the brand’s most high -end model, which also offers more affordable products in its catalog. And this is precisely of those in question today, since Boox has just announced two new more affordable models with the new Go 7 series.
These 7 -inch readers succeed the previous Go 7s, according to the brand, a fine and light design while providing technical improvements. This mini-game consists of the Go 7 monochrome, which replaces the Go 6, and the GO Color 7 of the second generation, which takes over from the first color version.
Monochrome or color, of your choice
The two new GO readers therefore retain the 7 inch format and the sleek design of their elders, which puts them in competition with models like the Kobo Libra Color and Amazon Kindle Paperwhite And Kindle Colorsoft. The major difference between the two new features is in terms of display technology.
The Go Color 7 (2nd generation) thus incorporates an e-ink Kaleido 3 color screen, with a resolution of 150 ppi for color content and 300 ppi for those in black and white.
For its part, the GO 7 opts for an e-ink Carta 1300 monochrome screen, with a resolution of 300 ppi, aimed at providing clarity comparable to that of paper.
The two models are also equipped with adjustable front lighting and a dark mode.
Compatibility with the stylus
The other novelty for this GO 7 series is compatibility with the Boox Inksense stylus, which is however sold separately. According to Boox, this functionality transforms the reader into a tool allowing handwritten notes, the annotation of documents or the highlighting of passages. A “notes” application is also preinstalled to exploit these capacities. Even if the ergonomics of a notes taking function on a 7-inch screen can ask questions, this small addition allows at least those who wish to transform the devices into a notebook.

A promise of lightness
In its press release, Boox also highlights the lightness of its new readers, announcing a weight of only 195 grams for a thickness of 6.4 mm. They also offer a textured back, physical buttons to turn pages and splash resistance. The Go 7 is offered in black or white, while the Go Color 7 will be available in bluish black.

Android 13 on board
Like the other Boox models, the two GO 7s are distinguished by the integration of the Android operating system, here present in its version 13. This should not fail to offer these new features an incomparable versatile that of the other market readers. Especially since the Google Play Store store is also a game.
On the material side, Boox announces a configuration common to the two models, with 4 GB of RAM (RAM) and 64 GB of internal storage. This storage can be extended thanks to a microSD card port.
Availability and price
The Boox Go 7 is available now, at the recommended public price of € 249.99. For the Boox Go Color 7, we will have to wait a little more since no other clarification than “available soon” was communicated by the brand. We still know that it will be offered at € 279.99.
