But that’s not all: the Chinese festival was also an opportunity to reveal a futuristic reinterpretation of John Woo’s film, A BETTER TOMORROWin the form of an animated film generated by AI.
The feature is called A Better Tomorrow: Cyber Border And was produced with technology developed by Quantum Animation. This is therefore a completely created film with artificial intelligence, from the animation script.
“This animated feature was fully directed by only 30 people,” said producer Zhang Qing. “The AI has dropped the barrier between creativity and execution. The production cycle has gone from several years to a few months.”
All this is done according to Chinese regulatory measures around the content generated by AI but according to He Tao, of the National Radio and Television Administration Research Center, “AI is not a tool, it is a new infrastructure.”
“It transforms scenario writing, special effects, dubbing and distribution. In the world of short film and micro-dramas, AI has already become a standard,” Add he.
So we haven’t finished seeing AI invite ourselves into the Chinese and global audiovisual industry.
