Brütal Legend is an action game straight out of Tim Schafer’s mind.
Eddie Riggs, a roadie elected by the gods of rock and embodied by Jack Black, must fight in a universe mixing Heavy Metal and Fantasy in order to save humanity and cut out demons into rings.
The game contains two types of gameplay that alternate throughout the game. First, the player controls Eddie and must explore the world of metal on foot or driving the destroymobile (his car), to search for certain objects to collect, or achieve specific objectives.
In this phase, the game is similar to an adventure and exploration game with a Beat’em All component. At some points, the player will also have to direct scenes battles. In these phases, two armies compete on a battlefield, and two scenes appear at each end of the battlefield. The player must then build stands to collect the energy of the fans, which allows him to bring more allies on the battlefield. He then gives orders to his allies and can win the battle by destroying the opponent’s scene. During these phases, the game is similar to a real -time strategy game, even if the player continues to control Eddie and can join the battle in addition to giving orders.
