While most marks are still lost in semantic subtleties around driving aids, Byd acts. In China, some of its models can now park alone, really alone. And if something is wrong, it is not up to the insurer to intervene. It is at the manufacturer. A turning point in history, both technical and industrial.

Level 4 activated: byd is betting on autonomy… and signs below

The Chinese manufacturer has put into service what he calls God’s Eye: an autonomous parking system now available on three models – Yangwang U8, U7, and Denza N7. The idea is not new on paper. The difference here is that it works. Concretely, the vehicle can park without anyone on board, without supervision, in predefined parking lots and modeled to the nearest centimeter.

Activation is done at a distance, in ota. But the essential is not there. Because where byd detonates, it is in the public commitment made on the legal level. In the event of an accident linked to this system, the company promises to cover the damage. Directly. No use of driver’s insurance, no deductible, no vagueness. Total management by after -sales service.

We are talking about an operational, assumed level 4. No experimentation under bell, no promise for “2026 if all is well”, no note at the bottom of the page. The techno is there, it is deployed, and Byd is responsible for its consequences. It is a declaration of intention as much as an industrial act. And in one sector where everyone is waiting for the other to take the risk first, Byd has just set a new standard. Not “autonomous driving” as keyword marketing, but as a confidence contract. And that’s new.

And it’s not an isolated blow. Since the beginning of the year, byd has multiplied strong announcements: E⁴ electrical architecture, individual transmission by wheel, Sodium-ion batteries On demonstration, ultra automated micro-users … Each quarter, the brand unrolls a new floor of its industrial rocket, while having exceeded one million cars with semi-assisted driving sold in China.

She also launched an offensive on the top of the range with Yangwang, while consolidating her positions at the entrance to the electric market. In France, The compact Dolphin Surf starts at 19,990 €, while The Urban SUV Atto 3Stay below € 38,990 excluding aid – well placed against the equivalent Europeans.
