It is a part of a new automobile test complex inaugurated in Shengzhou, in the center of China. Byd needs to test its electric vehicles and what could be better than a huge dune for that?

Byd has built a dune that enters Guiness Book
The dimensions are impressive. We speak of 26.6 meters in length, a total area of 3,612 meters² and a weight of 6,200 tonnes of sand. Byd has left nothing to chance since this artificial dune reproduces the Alxa desert. The 28-degree slope makes it possible to submit the SUVs and other all-terrain vehicles of the brand to tests in extreme desert conditions.
It must be said that Byd may offer Excellent value for vehiclesthe Chinese manufacturer also wishes to stand up to all-terrain giants like Jeep and Land Rover. This dune is therefore the perfect installation to reach its ambitions in the vehicle segment capable of facing very difficult terrain.
But that’s not all that is on the Shengzhou site. There are areas specialized in this space dedicated to electric vehicles with a 1758 meter test track with a rectilinear portion of 550 meters.
Byd has also installed a campsite space on 9000 meters² and an artificial ice circuit to test the grip in winter conditions.
But all-terrain capacities mainly have a place on this Shengzhou site with areas dedicated to slaloms and avoidance maneuvers in rugged paths. A special track with reduced grip has also been added in addition to a 70 -meter aquatic basin dedicated to the Yangwang U8 test. Driving assistance technologies are also tested in this place.
Byd does not intend to stop in Shengzhou and two other similar sites in the cities of Hefei and Shaoxing are on the program. These are complexes that work as hybrid areas between the technical requirements of a professional test center and extreme conditions.
Byd seeks to prove that its models excels in all environments, even the most hostile.
