Little by little, all operators agree to increase the termination fees for their Internet subscribers. After Free, SFR and Bouygues Telecom at the start of the year, it’s the turn ofOrange and its low-cost branch (Sosh) to revise upwards these prices, billed from their subscribers to the competition.

THE €50 mark forever crossed for Orange and Sosh termination fees

To anyone considering leaving Orange or Sosh: take out your wallet. Until now set at €50, the termination fees for the operator’s Liveboxes will increase by around 20% at the end of 2025.

The price thus rises to €60, following a broader trend on the market. Indeed, these fees skyrocketed among the three other Internet service providers in 2025, and more precisely during the first half of the year.

Free had opened the ball in February, increasing the bill to €59 (+€10). Two months later, SFR opted for the same strategywhile Bouygues Telecom reached new heights by displaying a price of €69 instead of the usual €59.

In short: 2025 is marked by an increase in cancellation fees of €10, all major French operators combined. Bad news for consumers, who may in certain cases have to actually pay money to leave Orange or Sosh.

In fact, Bouygues Telecom limits coverage of termination fees to €50, which does not completely cover the new pricing of the historic operator. For their part, Free and SFR increase to €100, which eliminates the impact of these fees on the wallets of their new subscribers.

Please note, Orange and Sosh have not yet communicated with their current subscribers about this change in fees. When this is the case, French law with the famous article L224-33 of the Consumer Code will allow as usual (for each contract modification) to terminate without charge within 4 months.
