Connected lock: Aqara launches the U200 Lite, an affordable model with matter care

After a series of new connected products In May, Aqara still enriched its offer by offering a variation of its U200 lock. The U200 Lite model is offered at a milder price but ignores the opening by fingerprints or via a digicode. It is compatible with the majority of European locks. A specific tool installation

Subject to compatibility therefore, one of the assets of the U200 Lite lies in its ease of installation. It adapts to European -type mortiser locks and certain Scandinavian models. No need to change the key or modify the door: the lock is fixed on the existing cylinder (screw or adhesive fixing). Only condition: the cylinder is compatible with the emergency function, that is to say, allow an opening from the outside even if a key is already inserted on the interior side.

Extended compatibility thanks to Matter

Based on the thread protocol, the lock is certified Matter, the recent standard that promotes interoperability between connected objectsall brands combined. The U200 Lite can thus be integrated into the main home automation environments, whether Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings or Home Assistant. It does not require a owner hub and can simply operate in Bluetooth via the AQARA application, but the use of certain functions (such as remote control) requires a matters compatible Thread router.

The lock offers several unlocking modes: via the Aqara Home mobile application or any other matter compatible, by voice command (Siri, Alexa), or by approaching a smartphone of the NFC sticker included in the pack that we have placed on the door. The application also makes it possible to remotely open a visitor or to follow an access history, without subscription.

A security system makes it possible to detect if the door has remained ajar, triggering a sound alert. Once closed, the door can be locking automatically, an option deactivated by default but activated via the app with other functions such as silent mode, manual rotation of the lock or even spring recall.

The U200 Lite is powered by a 2000 mAh rechargeable battery, offering up to six months of autonomy depending on the frequency of use (about eight daily cycles according to the brand). It is now marketed on the Aqara site, at approved resellers and on Amazon. You have the choice between two colors, white or black, at a price of € 127.99.
