Crispy Christmas: 3 star airfryers from our lab on sale
If there is one device that has colonized our kitchens this year, it’s this one. The oil-free fryer, or Airfryer for short, is no longer a simple gadget: it has become the essential culinary assistant for many of us. Why does this make a great Christmas gift? Firstly because it is the king of lazy gourmets: it cooks faster than an oven, it consumes less energy (thanks for the electricity bill!) and it allows you to eat fries or roast chicken with much less fat.
But be careful, not all models are equal. To avoid offering a plastic paperweight, we have drawn in our rigorous testing to save you valuable time. Here are three models rated 4 or 5 stars which have two things in common: they are technically excellent and their current price is much lower than when they were released.

The Balanced Choice: Ninja Max Pro AF180EU
If you’re looking for a safe bet without breaking the bank, this is it. Ninja is a bit like the “Apple” of the Airfryer, and this Max Pro model is one of their best compromises.
Why do we recommend it for Christmas? It is the champion of the “size/capacity” ratio. It achieves the feat of fitting into a small kitchen while offering a large 6.2 L drawer capable of swallowing a whole chicken or four poultry breasts. During our tests, it amazed us with its rapid heating (it reaches 240°C, ideal for searing!) and its silence. At less than 50 dB, it is quieter than a normal conversation, which is rare. It’s the ideal gift for a couple or a small family who wants performance without sacrificing their entire work surface. Its price has fallen significantly since its launch to €149, which makes it a golden deal.

The accessible bestseller: Cosori CP158-AF
You’ve probably already seen it on Amazon where it’s a hit, and good news: its reputation has not been usurped. The Cosori is proof that you don’t need to spend hundreds of euros to cook efficiently.
Why do we recommend it for Christmas? This is the “zero hassle” gift. Its interface with the touch screen is ultra intuitive: you press “French fries” or “Chicken”, and the machine manages it. With its 5.5 L tank, it is generous and ensures a very stable temperature, which guarantees even cooking (no more fries that are soft in the middle and burnt at the edge). Even if it is a little physically imposing, it compensates with formidable efficiency and easy maintenance (everything goes in the dishwasher). Launched around €130, it is now regularly found at an unbeatable price. For a first equipment or for a student, it is the smart choice.

The family giant: Philips 3000 Series (NA352/00) with double basket
Philips is the pioneer of the oil-free fryer. With this model, they finally answer the big question: “How do I cook my chicken AND my fries at the same time?”
Why do we recommend it for Christmas? Because it’s the ultimate gift for large tables or busy parents. The particularity of this model is its two asymmetrical drawers: a large 6 L for the main dish, and a small 3 L for the side dish. Unlike others, it does not require any preheating (a real time saver in the evening when returning from work) and respects temperatures perfectly. You can synchronize the end of cooking so that everything is ready at the same second. It’s a beautiful baby on the countertop, but it literally replaces an oven. Its introductory price was a bit steep (nearly €200), but current promotions make it much more digestible for the holidays.
