Cybertruck: repeatedly vandalized, Tesla retaliated by activating an unprecedented “weapon”

In a climate of tension marked by an increase in degradations targeting its vehicles, Tesla continues to refine its on -board safety solutions. The Californian brand has just added, without official press release, a new feature to its sentinel mode (Sentry Mode) on the Cybertruckrecently spotted on the vehicle's product page. Objective: to make attempts at vandalism as unpleasant as noisy.

So far, this sentinel mode allowed to record suspect behavior using external camerastrigger an alarm, flash the headlights and send a remote notification via the mobile application. From now on, the system goes further: if a threat is detected, the Cybertruck will be able to broadcast music at maximum volume to scare away the intruder.

This sound novelty could use the powerful external speakers of the vehicle, although Tesla does not yet specify whether it will be internal or external diffusion, or what exact sound level will be reached. For the moment, this function appears only on the technical sheet of Cybertruck, but it would be surprising that it does not gradually extend to the other models in the range.

This update comes as security around Tesla is closely scrutinized. Elon Musk recently ordered the activation of the sentinel mode on all vehicles on display in brand stores, in response to several incidents.
