Tesla brands the price of cybertruck of $ 10,000

In April 2025, Electrek revealed the existence of around 2,400 cybertrucks in stock, representing nearly $ 200 million. The media also said that the majority were old models, not eligible for the American tax credit for the purchase of an electric vehicle (up to $ 7,500).

Result : Tesla has chosen to offer up to $ 10,000 on some of these models, “But the average is closer to $ 8,000, more than the tax credit”.

Efforts that seem in vain, given that this has only reduced the inventory by approximately 100 units since the beginning of the month. Business Insider Share that the Texas Gigafactory has more reduced cybertruck production, now operating to a fraction of its initial capacity.

A situation that does not suggest anything good to The future of cybertruck. As a bonus, Electrek recalls that the production capacity of Tesla factories had recently been set at 60 % “To avoid constituting excessive stocks in a context of falling demand”.

Faced with this new information, a greater reduction would have been applied, a direct consequence of the low attractiveness of the electric SUV.

Now remains to be seen if Tesla will be able to straighten the bar in the coming months, or if theElon Musk’s political involvement Under the Trump administration will eventually harm the manufacturer – or at least to some of its models.
