No less than four years after the AH-C830NCW and AH-C630W, the Japanese manufacturer Denon renews its range of headphones True Wireless to rod. These new iterations, called AH-C840NCW and AH-C500W, stand out by a modernized design, as well as by technological and acoustic updates.

Headsets with rods available in open-fit and semi-intra formats
With a non-insulating semi-open format, the AH-C500W intended for people wishing to remain alert to their environment or for whom the silicone tips are uncomfortable. More upscale, the AH-C840NCW opt for a semi-in-ear design promoting insulation and sound quality.
The AH-C840NCW stands out as the most complete headphones in this new range. They take advantage of an adaptive noise reduction system, capable of adjusting in real time depending on the surrounding noises, and a transparency mode to remain alert to the environment in all circumstances. Denon also promises a rather generous autonomy of 7 hours with the noise reduction activated, and 10 hours without. Five minutes of load are enough to get an hour of reading.
The AH-C500W, on the other hand, obviously do not adopt any mode of insulation and offer an autonomy of 7 hours for a single load. In their case, an hour of reading requires ten minutes of load.
12 mm trandors and Bluetooth Audio compatibility
These two pairs of headphones True Wireless Denon adopt similar characteristics. We can first of all count on an audio architecture made up of 12 mm free-spun transducers in unpublished cellulose, inheriting Denon's know-how in terms of high-fidelity helmets. Carried by a multi -point management and a 5.3 Bluetooth receiver compatible with the Audio standard, connectivity seems completely complete. We take advantage of the LC3 low latency codec, as well as the Auracast technology for sound synchronization with dozens of devices and connection without pairing with a compatible transmitter. Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair are also available for automatic pairing with Android sources.
Of course, each pair of headphones works in concert with the Denon Headphones App, which gives access to an equalizer and allows personalization of their touch controls.
Designed for all trips, the AH-C500W and AH-C840NCW benefit from an IPX4 certification allowing them to resist splashes. In the absence of a guarantee of protection against sweat, we will avoid using them for sport. Denon also promises quality calls thanks to two headset microphones, accompanied by a noise reduction algorithm. Finally, note that the headphones are stored in the lying position in their load box, unlike their elders.
The AH-C500W and AH-C840NCW will be available from April 15, 2025 respectively, at prices of € 99 and € 159.
